The Wisdom Paradox: What Do We Lose When Offloading Human Capacities to AI?

Sources and Research

Bhavana Learning Group is committed to extending research on the concept of “Integrity.” We support coaches, teachers, and educators with new conversations for workability, accountability, and transparency in education and organizational life. The work presented in these blogs applies knowledge, experience, and wisdom based on research from several sources.

1. Special recognition for ground-breaking research that viewed “different paradigms for integrity,” developing concepts such as “workability” and our “word as a whole and complete” as researched in the Fair Use document Integrity: A Positive Model that Incorporates the Normative Phenomena of Morality, Ethics, and Legality by Erhard, Werner, Jensen, Michael C. and Zaffron, Steve. The Abridged version (English Language Version, July 4, 2017), originally published on 18 Feb 2010 and revised on 22 Apr 2022, is also published through Harvard Business School NOM Unit Working Paper No. 10-061, Barbados Group Working Paper No. 10-01, Simon School Working Paper No. 10-07, Available at SSRN here and here.

2. The research and application of integrity as a model for leadership by Souba, Wiley,

  1. The Being of Leadership. Philosophy, Ethics, and Humanities in Medicine 2011 6:5 (2011);
  2. The Science of Leading Yourself: A Missing Piece in the Health Care Transformation Puzzle in Open Journal of Leadership 2013. Vol.2, No.3, 45-55, published September 2013.
  3. A New Model of Leadership Performance in Health Care Association of American Medical Colleges, 2011;86:1241–1252. First published online August 24, 2011 doi: 10.1097/ACM.0b013e31822c0385

3. Research by Thomas Leonard, founder of Coach University, developed concepts of integrity as “personal foundation” and “whole and complete” via his “clean sweep” method as applied in a coaching context.

  1. Leonard’s work (1990-2005) can be found in The Coach U Personal Development Workbook and Guide 2005.

4. Research on ontological transformation in the way of being a leader as applied to coaching and leadership by Alan Seiler (2003) Coaching to the Human Soul: Ontological Coaching and Deep Change, Volume I, Newfield Australia, Melbourne.

5. Scholar, Fernando Flores, researched methods and models conceiving language as generative, “speech-acts,” and “our word as a system”:

  1. Flores’ work on philosophy, coaching, and workflow technology was influenced by Heidegger, Maturana, and John Austin presented in his 2013 book Conversations For Action and Collected Essays: Instilling a Culture of Commitment in Working Relationships,
  2. Flores examines with Terry Winograd the flawed assumptions regarding intelligence, knowledge, and competence in Understanding Computers and Cognition: A New Foundation for Design (1987).
  3. Flores researched language, trust, and integrity with Robert C. Solomon in Building Trust: In Business, Politics, Relationships, and Life (2001).

6. Rotman Magazine Fall 2009. Integrity is a matter of a person’s word – nothing more and nothing less. Interview by Karen Christensen with Michael Jensen, the Jesse Isidor Straus Professor of Business Administration, Emeritus at Harvard Business School.
